Saturday 8th June saw our first ever Mini Care Fest. The event took place to mark the start of Carers week with the theme this year being that of inclusion. Several Carers Centre’s from across the north west, including our own young carers and young adult carers, were invited to take part workshops, activities and live music for a full day event. The idea of the day was to mimic that of Young Carers festival held in Hampshire every year.
We wanted our young people to be included in something that helped them to feel less isolated, have fun and spend time with theirs peers. The day was a huge success with lots of relationships built, connections made and sharing of experiences.
We were joined by BBC Radio Lancashire and even the Lancashire Hotpots, with some fantastic live artists at the end of the day. We would like to thank everyone for their support and we hope to see you all again next year
“I look after a lot of people in my family – it’s hard work…”
