Do you value the work of the Carers Centre?
Could you commit a little time to become more involved in the charity?
Your voice could make all the difference to the service – and ultimately to other carers.
The Carers Centre wants to recruit carers as members in order to involve them in all elements of service development.
Membership offers the opportunity to get directly involved in the governance of the Carers Centre.
It means carers have a real say in the running of the service. It also gives them the right to vote at the annual meeting, rather like the shareholders of a company.
Crucially, it gives the service direct access to carers as a support network in their own right, to help make and shape policy, to consult for guidance and opinions and ultimately play a leading role in all levels of the service.
Tom McMurdo, Resources Lead for the Centre, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity to perform one of the key functions of the governance process and to gain a very rewarding experience at the same time.”
