We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as the Mayor’s Charity this year, along with Blackpool Royal British Legion Club.
The Mayor’s Charity fund, will help to redevelop the derelict Annex at the back of our Centre, into an amazing Lodge, to include:
- First Floor: overnight respite rooms for groups of young people to enjoy a break away from their caring role
- Ground Floor: A dementia friendly area for activities, support and training.
Visitors to the Lodge will be able to enjoy all that Beaverbrooks House has to offer, including the tranquil gardens, a variety of activity rooms, plus transport and access to Blackpool’s variety of seaside attractions.
There will be a host of Mayor’s Charity fundraising events held throughout the year which will be updated on the What’s On page of this website.
The Mayor has enlisted the support of a dedicated Fundraising Team, made up of staff and volunteers from the Carers Centre, members from the Blackpool business and showbusiness communities and Blackpool Council.
All the Mayor’s Charity correspondence will carry the special ‘Blackpool Cares’ Mayor’s Charity Campaign logo. The logo has been made into a limited number of commemorative badges which are available from the Carers Centre and throughout the town, for a minimum donation of £1.
