Below is just a small selection of our terrific supporters:
Blackpool Easter Hockey Festival – raised £1489.55
Once again Blackpool Carers Centre was chosen as the charity partner of the Blackpool Easter Hockey Festival, held at Blackpool Cricket Club and Stanley Park.
The festival hosted teams from across the UK, all competing for the titles of Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Champions!
The tour is famed for its impressive range of social mixers and activities and Blackpool Carers’ Centre was proud to be a part of the team making this year’s festival the best so far!
This year’s theme was a Beach Party, complete with a surf simulator ride and fancy dress grass skirts and leis. Even our Blackpool weather held out, it was glorious!
Our Volunteer Jo, and her team of volunteers did a fantastic job all weekend, not only collecting donations on the team buses and selling the grass skirts and leis, but helping to raise awareness of carers’ issues to both players and visitors in the park.
We are extremely grateful to Burton’s Biscuits for donating the cookies and also the prize of a huge hamper filled with biscuits and goodies for the winner.
A huge thank you goes to all the teams, officials, the Blackpool Hockey Festival committee and volunteers who made this year a great success and helped to raise the fantastic sum of £1489.55 for us.
See you again next Easter, for more fun, games and an even bigger and better event!
